Crafters are tactical operators, concrete in speech and utilitarian in action. In social situations they are directive and reserved. Crafters are masters at using tools of every type-artistic, technological, martial. Although they are introverts, they are authoritarian in their interactions with others and can be forceful when influencing ppl. They focus on accomplishing tasks efficiently and skillfully. To master the tool of their interest, ISTPs require a certain degree of seclusion in which to practise. The result is ofter=n a virtuosity that other types find difficult to match.
ISTPs excel at analyzing situations to reach the heart of a problem so that they can swiftly implement a functional repair, making them ideal to the field of engineering. Naturally quiet ppl, they are interested in understanding how systems operate, focussing on efficient operation and structure. But contrary to their seemingly detached nature, ISTPs are often capable of humorously insightful observations about the world around them. They abhor wast but are highly adaptable, making them open to info and approaches that are new. They enjoy exploring new things and can become bored with repetitiveness and routine. They can also be closet daredevils who gravitate toward fast moving or risky hobbies, recreational sports, and careers.
ISTPs may sometimes seem to act without regard for procedures, directions, protocol, or even their own safety. Masterminds are introspective, pragmatic, directive, and attentive. As strategists, they are better than any other type as brainstorming approaches to situations. Masterminds are capable but not eager leaders, stepping forward only when it becomes obvious to them that they are the best for the job. Strong willed and very self assured, they may make this decision quickly as they tend to make all decisions. But though they are decisive, they are open to new evidence and new ideas, flexible in their planning to accommodate changing situations. They tend to excel at judging the usefulness of ideas and will apply whatever seems most efficient to them in accomplishing their clearly envisioned goals.
